Stonehenge

These are some pictures of the famous English Heritage, Stonehenge!!!
We can get there around 30 minutes by car.

What a beautiful sunshine!!!

A The guidebook says that the monument was begun around 3000 BC in the late Neolithic period and evolved until around 1600 BC in the middle of the Bronze Age. It is aligned with the rising and setting of the sun at the solstices, but its exact purpose remains a mystery.

There was a one-way road around the stone... but

We didn't get in there enter anymore because we could see them from anywhere have a nice view from a far and we wanted to go to the other tourist spot too.

We have many heritages in Japan. But those are in the housing estate or in close of the living space.
However the Stonehenge was in a huge place. I was very surprised that I could watch them from a distance at first.

Salisbury

I went to the Salisbury Cathedral with my husband's and my friend, she who is a visitor from Japan , and my husband last February. That It was a huge and beautiful 13th century Cathedral.

The In the cathedral , has there is a tower. It was which is 123 m. meters high.
There was a tower tour but we couldn't take it because the tour time was finished. over.

The celling was so high and it has beams curving an amazing from one side to the other, making an amazing form. I like the soft  pink and peach colors of the celling.

There were many big stained glasses.
I thought the cathedral had several different impression at each part.
But there were no partitions or walls between each part.
Maybe each stained glasses make each part different impression.
There were various stained glasses giving different moods and impressions.
Though the cathedral had no partitions, I felt like going to different rooms at that time.

According to the pamphlet, the The cloisters is are the largest of any cathedral in Britain.

It was a fine day!!! We took a walk a in the town near the cathedral.

My home town , Kyoto , has many traditional temples. But but I was not so interesting interested in them.
It was the nomal things that these were in my town , I through beside the temple everyday for me.
I was so used to/accustomed seeing those temples in my town since I passed by them everyday on my way to school.
If I live in this town for a long time, maybe I will be feel the same as I lived in Japan.

The distinction of the among architectures or and cultures makes gives me different a unique feeling.

Harry Potter's location (last September 3,2010 )

I forgot to post these pictures. These are taken in Lacock Abbey, one of the Harry Potter's location.
We visited there in a weekday of the last September. That is why there were not another no other people in there.

The abbey is located in a small idyllic town.

The weather was excellent, not too hot, not too cold, comfortable wind and the sky was blue sky
How do you feel this shape of the What is your first impression when you see this building? It looks like a small castle, doesn't isn't it?

I was wondering why the abbey doesn't have the cross crucifix.
I should ask someone about that.
I asked a tutor about that. She said it is not church. The church has the crucifix.
I see.

The building was made/built from stones and has some nice shape windows.

Did you remember this cloisiter corridor?
Maybe I watched it in the Harry Potter the movie♪

Inside the cloister corridor, there are some beautiful caved pillars and ceiling.

This is the proof that the abbey was one of the location of the Harry Potter movie.

I am not sure what number of the Harry Potter movie series I have watched this pot.
But I remember Harry was inside the pot.  but...why did was he inside the pot...? I can't remember.

And the garden location of the movie is also inside the building. located place.
But it has not a fountain.

I watched the garden like this picture in the movie.
This pictures shows what I saw in the garden when I watched the movie. It has a fountain.

There were a lots of sheeps in the expansive field around the abbey.

We are looking forward to watch the last series Harry Potter movie !!!

Going back to UK from Node Station (last December 30, 2010)

The last day of our travel, we spent our a relax time relaxing inside our Hotel until noon.
We move to the Node station in Paris by train after we checked out the Hotel.
And then we ate a our lunch near the station.

The Node station has beautiful modern glass walls.

There are many trains inside the station. Maybe it makes a excites train freaks excite!!!

There are two gates, for one to outbound from France and the other one to get into UK in the station.

I felt many things in Paris. I like it there.
But it was only a part of France.
So Hopefully, I want to go the country side of France if I have an opportunity I want to go to the other parts of France and see the other side of France.
